Information required shall include visitor name, address,
purpose of visit, name of inmate visiting and the visitors
signature. Staff shall document date and time of the visits.
Visitation is a minimum of fifteen (15)
minutes and a maximum of thirty (30) minutes. If there are

minutes. This will be at the discretion of the jailer on
duty. Last sign-in will be fifteen (15) minutes before

Visitor Rules and
Regulations:
-
No person under the influence of alcohol
or chemical substance will be allowed to visit.
-
No person under the age of 18 shall be
allowed in the visitation area or any other area of the
Bremer County Jail without the expressed approval of the
Bremer County Sheriff.
-
All persons entering the jail
are subject to search by jail staff. A sign shall be
posted at the entrance of the jail stating such. Failure
to submit to search will be cause for rejection of
access to the jail. All items brought into the jail will
be subject to search.
-
A visit may be denied if reasonable
suspicion exists that the visit may endanger the safety
or security of the facility. A record shall be made of
such denial and the reason therefore.
-
Judgment will prevail over the rigid
enforcement of the visitation time under special
circumstances (e.g. family has traveled a considerable
distance and could not make regular visiting day or
hour, need for clearing legal matters before
transportation to other facility, or authorization by
the Sheriff or Jail Administrator.)
-
Deviation from regular visitation will
only be authorized by Jail Administrator or Sheriff and
the decision will be final.
-
All persons visiting an inmate must show
a picture ID ( drivers license, non-diver's license,
etc.) A copy of the ID will be made and put in the
visitation file. A 10-29 will be ran on each visitor
every time they come for inmate visitation.
-
If there is a "hit" on a visitor,
dispatcher will need to confirm the warrant with the
appropriate agency immediately. A deputy or city officer
will need to be notified immediately.
Attorneys and Ministers
-
Inmates may consult with legal counsel,
provided such consultation does not interfere with the
safety or security of the facility and daily routine is
no unduly interrupted.
-
Inmates wishing to see a chaplain must
complete an inmate request form.
-
Chaplains or church volunteers may make
a request to the Jail Administrator, or designee, to
visit an inmate in the jail. Provided such visit does
not jeopardize the safety and/or security of the
facility.
